Gentle Dental Care History
The history of Gentle Dental Care dates back to 1977. That was the year Dr. Thomas D. Deppe opened the practice. He was dedicated to providing quality, personalized dental care for the whole family. It didn't take long for Dr. Deppe's patients to start referring their friends and neighbors to him. When it came time to add associates to his practice, Dr. Deppe wanted highly trained dentists who shared his commitment to exceptional care. He found this and more with Dr. Bryan R. Medaris, Dr. Mark T. McDonald, Dr. Travis P. Royce, and Dr. Jonathan N. Scott. From a humble beginning with just one dentist, Gentle Dental Care now operates two office locations with a support staff of over 30. But everyone still follows the same practice philosophy that was set forth by Dr. Deppe over 30 years ago.
Gentle Dental Care Dentists
"I decided to pursue a career in healthcare, specifically dentistry, because I wanted to make a positive difference in people's lives. Today, I offer you over 30 years of clinical experience along with the friendly, gentle care you will really appreciate. One of the greatest pleasures after being in practice for so many years is to watch my patients grow older and bring their children to our office for treatment. Finally, I make a point of staying on top of the latest developments in my field through continuing education and membership in several dental organizations."

"My older brother, who graduated from dental school several years before I decided on a career path, played a big role in my becoming a dentist. He always talked about how rewarding the field was — both personally and professionally — because he was able to help enhance people's smiles and their self-confidence. When I made the decision to become a dentist, I also made a commitment to exceptional patient care. This means treating you with empathy, friendliness and a gentle touch... every step of the way. What's more, I will explain the results of your dental exam and any recommended treatment in simple, easy-to-understand language. Educating you on your individual dental needs is a top priority."

"I became a dentist because it involves a combination of science and artistic vision. In addition, the field of dentistry is constantly improving in both technique and technology, which is very compelling to me. Remaining active in professional dental organizations allows me to meet with my peers, exchange ideas and learn about the newest ways to improve the care I offer my patients. What's more, I pride myself on providing gentle, personalized care. I spend the time to get to know you, listen to your concerns and answer your questions so that you are completely comfortable with your dental care. In short, I will treat you just like I would my own family members."

"I decided at a very young age that I wanted to pursue a career in dentistry. My family dentist did such a wonderful job taking care our oral healthcare needs, that I decided to follow in his footsteps. It has been a very rewarding career choice. The field of dentistry is rapidly moving forward with new technology and techniques, and I consider it my responsibility to stay abreast with these advancements. Throughout the year I attend continuing education courses that allow me to provide you with the most current, quality dentistry available. I will also take the time to thoroughly explain the treatment plan that we develop together. This will address your specific dental needs and wants. You can feel confident in your decision to visit with us at Gentle Dental Care."

"I love being a dentist. The reason I chose dentistry as my profession is that I wanted a career that could change people's lives for the better. I realize that going to the dentist can be a difficult task for some. I do my best to make patients feel comfortable and make their visits a pleasant experience. Children can be an extra challenge, but with a soft kind voice, they gain confidence and allow me to complete the necessary work.
